Characters
Animation and characters
After looking at previous children's television programmes and carrying out research of watching these programmes as research, I have found that animations mostly used there characters in the opening title sequence. Although for children's television programmes that I have looked at such as the already existing Mona the Vampire title sequence which has used characters after looking at sop motion characters have not been used, greatly and when they have this has not been very effective.
For example only Paper animation, stop motion, snoeck - Down here with me and Sand Animation - Ukraine's Got Talent Final feature people within there stop motion animations. This shows how difficult it is to include characters and people within a stop motion animation. Due to how the precise needed and the amount of time needed to be able to make the character move on screen with stop motion animation as a photo is needed for every time a character moves. So when the photos are put together for the stop motion the characters will move along the page.
When looking at these animations compared with animations with has not used characters, the animations that have not used characters or people are more effective. This is because they are not as complained and more plain and simple to understand. Which also means that the animations are more effective due to the precise develop and animation used. For example when compared with other animations not as effective as just using basic shapes and symbolism's, like Paper Pour Feliciter 2010! just uses basic mousse shape which moves across the page. This is not complained but works well, with the basic animation, in my opinion I prefer when just basic shapes and symbolism which are used in animations.

Stereotypes
The main stereotyped character which is showed in Mona the Vampire, is Mona as she is the girl main character which is the show based around. Almost all children television shows are only based on one character and there friendly this is because the target audience is children aged 6 to 10 and the children might not understand what is going on if there are a lot of main characters.
Interviews
Myself and a follow student discussed what we thought of the original Mona the Vampire title sequence, after watching this several times we come to the conclusions of;
- bright and pale colours are used through the title sequence, with focus on the locations such as Mona's room and the school which Mona goes to are featured greatly, the title sequences is very jumpy from scene to scene, which does keep your attention but could be edited to a higher standard.
- there is a lot of shots of Mona and her cat this could show that she is close to her cat and that it might follow her around or be a major part within the series or have some major focus
- title sequence shows Mona, as Mona Parker and as Mona the Vampire, good that it explains her two life's in the title sequence
- quite a few of the creators and monster that Mona and her friends fight is featured, may there should not be as many as this gives quite a lot of the programme away.
Mona the Vampire - Opening sequence
Subjects
The main subject for Mona the Vampire, is Mona as she is the main character and the show id based on her as the main subject. Other subjects is fag who is Mona's cat, if you look at the show at the show closely fag, has as much air time as Mona as fag is always with Mona. This is also shown in the original title sequence where fag features heavily.
Decision
Overall after looking at the current Mona the Vampire title and discussing this, and deciding that I am going to use sand animation which is quite complicated I am mostly probably just going to to use symbols such as a bat or maybe a cat within the title sequence as this would be more effective, than trying to copy the Mona the Vampire original title sequence, as I would not be able to get this exactly right. Therefore I am better creating and experimenting with my own idea. This is also because the people used in stop-motion and sand animations used have not been as successful and just a shape or symbols could be.
Costumes
The main costumes in Mona the Vampire are casually clothes, although when Mona, Lily and Charlie fight the creators they dress up. These are costumes which they have made themselves, Mona's is a purple cape,
with a black skirt and red top with four plattes. Charlie who is known as Zapman wears a blue top, with green trousers and spenders, and Lily wears a yellow top with a light blue skirt and a crown as she is known as Princess Giant.
Locations
The main location for Mona the Vampire is in a school, with also the characters homes which include Mona the Vampires home which is the major location where the show is set. Other locations where Mona the Vampire is set is, in the local park and field where Mona lives, as Mona, Lily and Charlie already go to Mona's house first before they see the invasible creators to fight. Although for different episodes the locations change for example there is an episodes in the first series where the episodes is about an old creepy house which a man lives in, therefore this is the main location for this episodes.
